Once the effects of the international crisis of 2008-2009 had begun to subside, Ecuador’s economy entered a period of variable growth. The average annual change in its gross domestic product (GDP) during the period 2010-2014 was 5.2%, higher than the average for Latin America during the same period (3.5% according to ECLAC data). In nominal terms, the economy was worth USD 101,726 million in 2014.
