The WTO at Ten
Bringing together articles by some of the leading policy-makers including previous WTO Director-Generals practitioners scholars of international trade law government officials international civil servants Members of the WTO Appellate Body and judges from a number of international tribunals this volume assesses the dispute settlement system during the first ten years of the World Trade Organization. It examines the relationship and balance between political governance and dispute settlement; the functioning of the dispute settlement procedures and various reform proposals; the contribution of the Appellate Body to the development of international trade law; and treaty interpretation in a number of international dispute settlement fora such as the WTO the International Court of Justice the European Court of Justice and the Tribunal for the Law of the Sea. The book has its origins in a series of events commemorating the tenth anniversary of the creation of the WTO dispute settlement system and the Appellate Body.
World Tariff Profiles 2021
World Tariff Profiles 2021 provides comprehensive information on the tariffs and non-tariff measures imposed by over 170 countries and customs territories. The publication starts with a breakdown of the tariffs imposed by these economies. Tariff data are presented in comparative tables and in one-page profiles for each economy. A summary table on selected indicators on the imports and exports profile for these economies is also presented. Statistics on non-tariff measures by country and by product group complement the data on tariffs. The special topic deals with estimating analytical indicators related to non-tariff measures using UNCTAD TRAINS data. The publication is jointly prepared by the World Trade Organization the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the International Trade Centre (ITC).

Annual Report 2011
The 2011 WTO Annual Report provides a brief summary of the organization and a detailed review of its activities in 2010. It also includes a personal message from the Director-General who reflects on the events of 2010 and the challenges that lie ahead. The main part of the Report is divided into the five principal areas of activity of the WTO: trade negotiations ─ outlining the latest developments in the Doha Round implementation and monitoring ─ describing how WTO agreements are being implemented and the organisation's trade monitoring role dispute settlement ─ summarizing the commercial disputes brought by WTO members to the WTO's Dispute Settlement Body in 2010 building trade capacity ─ outlining the WTO's efforts to help developing countries improve their trade capacity outreach ─ detailing how the WTO maintains dialogue with a variety of audiences. The Report also features an in-depth look at the WTO's Public Forum and the Open Day which were held in September 2010.

WTO-OECD-UNCTAD: Despite crisis G20 governments largely resist protectionist pressures: The WTO OECD and UNCTAD in a joint report on G20 trade and investment measures released on 14 June 2010 noted the imposition of fewer trade restrictions but warned “they are accumulating”. In a separate report to WTO members on trade-related developments Director-General Pascal Lamy confirmed this trend but urged governments to remain “vigilant” and to give priority to “exiting current restricting measures”. The OECD and UNCTAD also released a separate report on G20 investment measures.
WTO Domestic Regulation and Services Trade
Domestic regulation of services sectors has a significant impact on services trade liberalization which is why General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS) disciplines are negotiated in the WTO. World Trade Report 2006
The annual World Trade Report focuses on trade policy issues - the core topic addressed in 2006 is subsidies. Trade Profiles 2016 provides a series of key indicators on trade in goods and services for 195 economies. This new edition incorporates Services Profiles which was previously published separately. For merchandise trade major exports and imports are listed for both agricultural and non-agricultural products as well as major origins and destinations for these products. For trade in services a detailed breakdown is provided for transport travel and other commercial services. Statistics on intellectual property are also provided. The information is available for all WTO members and observers and for other selected economies. For each economy the data is presented in a handy two-page format providing a concise overview of global trade. Tariff Negotiations and Renegotiations under the GATT and the WTO
The procedures and practices to implement the provisions relating to tariff negotiations and renegotiations have evolved considerably since the GATT was established in 1947. The provisions themselves have undergone some changes in the last fifty-four years. Professor Hoda reviews the evolution of these provisions and of the procedures adopted and practices followed by the contracting parties to GATT 1947 and the Members of the WTO.
